What to do at a sushi restaurant?
  • Clean your hands with the hot towel supplied.
  • Order a drink. Green tea is great to have with sushi.
  • Place your sushi order. You can order individual rolls, combination platters or combine different items. Ask the sushi chef for his or her recommendation of the day. If you are not ordering a set combination of sushi, then order a few kinds at a time.
  • Put some soy sauce in a small bowl. The sauce is used for dipping.
When eating your sushi it is OK to use your fingers, or you may want to use chopsticks or as a last resort, a fork.
  • When dipping your sushi in the sauce only dip the section you are going to eat right then.
  • When you need something it is best to ask your waitress and let the sushi chef work their magic.
  • It is a nice gesture to buy your sushi chef a drink if he or she is doing a good job.
